Set aside 15–25% for unexpected costs — it is normal to encounter water damage or outdated plumbing that must be addressed before new work can begin. Get at least two to three quotes and ask for a fixed price before work starts.
How it runs
A bathroom renovation step by step
A bathroom is built in a fixed order, and each stage has to be finished before the next can start. First the old bathroom is stripped out and removed. Then comes the drainage and first-fix plumbing, followed by the electrical runs. The floor is cast and the wet-room membrane laid. Finally the tiles go on floor and walls, and the toilet, shower and basin are fitted.
The wet-room membrane is the stage that decides whether the bathroom lasts. It has to meet the Danish building regulations for wet rooms and it has to be documented. We work with authorised plumbing and electrical partners, and you receive the documentation when the job is handed over. That paperwork is what a buyer or a surveyor will ask for if you later sell the property.
Because the stages depend on each other, coordination is what keeps the timeline. You have one point of contact for the whole project instead of chasing separate trades.
